Halloween 2011

Here we are dissecting pumpkins!
Emily (age -almost- 11)
Guts, guts, guts and SEEDS!  Or was that, "Cheese!"?
Julieanna (almost age 2) in the background -stripped so she doesn't get messy!  And, Tanner - big 6 year old!

Lindsey - age 8
Our family just adores roasted pumpkin seeds - but only the way I make them... The store bought ones just don't taste as good.  The kids were just as excited to help in sorting out all of the seeds from the pumpkin guts as they were to carve Jack-o-Lanterns and they all pitched in to chase out all the seeds!  Here is Lindsey who was meticulous in her efforts...  She always is.

Watts family events always involve some sort of fight.  Here are Emily and Tanner wrestling... I don't know if anyone was hurt during the filming of this fight...
 TRICK OR TREAT!
Can't you tell that they ADORE their Daddy! (oh, he's the one dressed as a Daddy)
We looked through our closets to find costumes to fit what each of the kids wanted to be.  Julieanna was a given - I knew she was going to dress up in my ribbon fairy costume that I made originally for Emily when she was two.  I am very proud of that costume... ;-)  We got her into the costume with minimal struggle and she looked fabulous!  On the actual night of Halloween, we put her into the stroller and didn't have her wear her costume.  She was content about halfway through our night of knocking doors but then clued into the idea that if she walked up to the houses, people open their doors and give you candy!  She just had to get in on that action!  So, bold as brass, no costume on at all, she walked up to every door and said, "Twick o Treet!"  Only after she realized that she had no room left to hold the candy in her hands, would she then let go and put the candy in her bag.  I wish I got it on video!  The next day she continued to tell me all about her trick or treating adventure and kept asking, "Twick o Treet"?  Nope, not today sweetheart.  We'll have to wait for another year... "CANDY!"  That's her latest word...
Julieanna - A Fairy
Tanner - A Jedi Knight
Tanner wanted to be a Jedi - no character specifically, just a good warrior.  That's my boy - choosing the right.  A few days before Halloween, he said, "Mom, next year I want to be a Missionary."  Then Emily commented that that would be cool at the Trunk or Treat at the church, but it might not work for trick or treating.  Then Tanner said, "Yeah, it will. I'll just tell the people about the Gospel!"  Emily, "That could work..."  Proud Mama here.
Lindsey - a Flower Fairy
Emily - Hippie

Lindsey always wants to be someone gorgeous.  But, she is also the one who is very particular and hates anything remotely "scratchy" on her skin.  SIGH!  Lace, sequins, YIKES!  Well, we found an old ballet costume in the dress up trunk and a pair of fairy wings at a garage sale (Thanks Amy!) and I pinned flowers all throughout her hair... she was tickled pink!

Emily was specific - she wanted to be a hippie with her friend Kelci.  I had some leftover fabric in my box, fake leather!  I made two matching vests, braided headbands and the girls wore matching shirts (again, found in the Watts dress up box) with their flare jeans.  Groovy!  "AHHHHHhh FREAK OUT!"
Wanna know how much I spent on this years costumes for all the kids?  $0!  Priceless...
Emily Watts, Kelci Collins, Chloe Minard, Regan Smyth - Goofy girls!

Trunk or Treat!  I passed out candy...

Two Jedi's clash!  Tanner and his friend Davis - Good Jedi against Darth Vader!
