Birthdays...

I'm tired...  I turned 35 on February 1st.  My son turned 5 on February 10th.  Here he is trying out his gift - a skateboard!

Happy Birthday to You!!!!  The prince of the family...
He was king for the day - he got to decide what was for breakfast and he dictated his "favorite dinner" as:  Chicken Bundles, raw carrots with dip and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade!
His cake had to be chocolate with white frosting - decorated with chocolate kisses, gummie worms and swedish fish!  Interesting... but so much fun!  He also wanted to make "SLIME".

Gramma Jackie was a great sport and supervised the mess...  Thanks mom!
Our queen of hearts - born 2 days before Valentine's Day - prepared for her big day by creating her own crown.  She wants to be an artist when she grows up, and a teacher and a vet, and... well, you get the idea.  I woke her up for school on her birthday and she said with a smile as she stretched like a cat, "Today is going to be the best day!"  I thought to myself, seven years ago today was one of my best days.

This day also happened to be the class valentine's day party, so I decided to bring Julieanna in to both Emily and Lindsey's classes - so the girls could show and tell their new little sister to their classes, and so I could stay and help out with Lindsey's party.  This was her ultimate wish - for me and Julieanna to spend some time with her at school.

Lindsey also got to be princess for the day and wanted whole wheat pancakes for breakfast, with Hot Dogs and Macaroni and Cheese for dinner.  If you ask Lindsey what her favorite color is, she has a hard time deciding.  So, she usually says "Rainbow!"

Both my kids said that they wanted Gramma Jackie and Grampa Bob to come over and specifically for Grampa to play Tickle Monster with them.  As a kid, my dad was an expert at "terrorizing" us with "The Claw" and tickling to the point of peeing in our pants just about every night.  He does the same thing with the grandkids - and they LOVE it.

This year we also planned to have a Watts Family Birthday Party over at my In-Laws home - there are 6 family members with birthdays in the month of February - 3 of which are from my household.  So - the kids had a day of riot-worthy fun, complete with jumpy house and most of their Watts cousins on Saturday the 13th.  Thanks to Aunt Cassie, who shares her birthday with my Lindsey, who rented the jumpy house - we did not see our kids for 3 hours!  They wore themselves out - I highly recommend jumpy houses for kid birthday parties!

By this time of the day - I was exhausted... can't you tell?
