Okay - so my kids have been in school now for about 4 weeks... Emily is our 3rd Grader and she loves her teacher, Mrs. Patton.
She has also started playing soccer this year on a community league team with several of her friends and schoolmates. Daddy is the assistant coach for the team and is already planning for next year - he may decide to coach her team! She just relishes the time spent with her dad and really seems to have some natural "skills". She is such the tomboy and loves to be activly engaged in some activity or another. She just can't stand to sit still and really does not enjoy homework (who does?) OR reading. Oh well.
Lindsey is our 1st Grader and is quite content to sit down with a good book or her notepad, practicing her letters and drawing pictures for her family members.
She has had a bit of trouble adjusting to the 6 and 1/2 hours at school instead of 4... she really misses being at home with Mommy and Tanner. But, things are starting to smooth out now, since she has discovered her first schoolboy crush! She now tells me that she likes going to school because she is going to chase one particular boy on the playground. Oh dear... Daddy is already anticipating having to display his shotgun collection when the boys start coming around. Lindsey also is very excited that she has finally accomplished what Emily and Tanner have already done - she can now ride her bicycle WITHOUT training wheels!
Tanner is begining his 2nd year of Preschool with Joyful Noise Nursery School and he is so glad to see his friends and teachers again! He is attending Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in the afternoon. He is just a joy to me and I am so in love with my Tan Man!
