My Mother's Day was truly a day off!
Jared popped out of bed at 7am and made the kids breakfast, as Emily made sure that I stayed in bed. Emily and Daddy delivered my breakfast of pancakes, an egg over easy and fresh rasberries with juice in bed, accompanied by Emily's paper flower she made at school along with a card with her writings about how much she loves me. Precious! Lindsey and Tanner came in for their morning cuddles and then it was time to get ready for church!
We actually got to church 5 minutes early and were able to sit in a padded pew! Jared is the reason we made it on time! He is wonderful when he wants to help out! There was NO fighting or arguing and we all made it to church happily! The primary children went up to sing "Love is Spoken Here" and "Mother, I Love You". Emily stood over with the bulk of the older children and kept her eyes on the chorister the WHOLE time. I think she was a bit nervous. Lindsey stood right in front, waved at us before the music began, kept her eyes on us and wore her beautiful bright smile the whole time! Tanner also stood in front, and waved enthusiastically at me with his big grin. He didn't know the first song at all (as he explained to me later on that day) but when "Mother, I Love You" began, his eyes brightened and he sang every word. He sang loud with a smile and pointed directly at me on the line, "Father in Heaven has sent me to YOU" (when he sang the word "you"). Of course, that put me over the edge and the tears leaked out of my eyes - as my heart overflowed with the joy I cannot help but find in my children.
Jared truly served me ALL day - and did it with love and gladness. It was a very nice, restful day. I love being a woman and I am honored to be a mother. Thank you to all the women in my life that have loved me and have been wonderful examples to me - especially my own mother and my mother-in-law. Happy Mother's Day!
