In The Bleak Midwinter...

Last year my mother gave me a CD with her grandchildren in mind. It was a compilation of Christmas carols performed with quiet reverance with the intent of the music being played at bedtime, as lullabies. My children love listening to this album, "Mary's Lullaby - Christmas Songs For Bedtime" c.2007 Shadow Mountian Records, and I too have found the music soothing to my anxious soul. This music first fell upon my ears at a time in my life of almost unbearable anxiety, as I was carrying an angel within. Felicity was due to arrive in less than 2 months, and in hindsight now I see that I could feel that time with my angel baby was drawing to an end. It has been almost a year since we parted with our baby girl and we look forward to the time when we will be reunited with her and all our loved ones who have passed on, and have gone back Home.

The song which I could not stop listening to is called, "In The Bleak Midwinter". Last winter truly felt like I was in the middle of my life's very bleak, dark and cold winter; the point in time when we all must look up and find the tiny light of faith, which will carry us through the rest of the seemingly endless winter nights.

It is this wish and prayer I send out to you. To reach out and grasp tightly to the thought of who is the source of all hope and light - The Light that will always come and triumph over the darkness. I hope you enjoy the message of love and hope and of peace that this hymn brings to me, every time I listen. May it carry you through your winters - into the light and renewal of spring. Merry Christmas.

PS - I am trying to get a slideshow I created onto my blog here... I am still trying to figure this technology out. So, check back later...
